Jack Waterman Photography
First, thank you for visiting the JW Photography Galleries.  Below is some information about the photos and the prints.

BLUR
Please check on-line images closely.  Many photos have a motion-created blurring - this may be very subtle, or very dramatic.  I occasionally shoot very heavily blurred photos which have a central point of sharp focus surrounded by motion blur - a unique technique that enhances some types of motorsports photos.

Blur should be understood as different than "out of focus."  I try to only offer photos that are in good focus on this website.  If you have any questions if a particular photo is sharp enough to be enlarged, please send me an email.

COPYRIGHT
All images and graphics on this site are copyrighted, and may not be copied, or reproduced without permission.  I take certain precautions to prevent easy copying or printing of the photos.  If photos are needed for websites, or promotional materials only, please contact me, I'm very liberal with my use policies and often request only a photography credit.

RETOUCHING and CROPPING
Photo clients often have requests or questions regarding the cropping and retouching of photos they choose.  Nearly every photo that I print has at least some amount of retouching.  This can include color, brightness and contrast adjustments as well as digitally removing glaring and obvious imperfections, like distracting dust specks, or light flares.  I crop my photos based on a traditional formula where the subject of the image is placed where it will be the most natural for the eye to fall and will have a sense of balance and spatial coordination.  If you have specific items you'd like to have re-touched out of a photo, or a particular cropping (such as, including only a certain subject and cropping down to exclude distracting items), please either email me ahead of time, or include your requests in the "Comments" section when you place an order.

THE PRINTS
Every print is create here in my studio on high quality, high gloss paper. All photos are color corrected and balanced as close as possible to the existing lighting. While prints are "Water Resistant", it is recommended to never get them damp or wet. Prints are archival and most should last for generations without fading. However, when mounting, framing or displaying on a wall try to avoid areas that will receive extended intense direct sun.
